Message To My WordPress Visitors/Followers And Outside Visitors

I just want to acknowledge that when any of you “like” my posts or leave a comment, if I do not immediately respond or respond back in a timely manner, I definitely will eventually.

I do not ignore or disregard anyone who takes out the time to read my posts unless nothing is required or really needs to be said.

I also wanted to acknowledge that I have read many WordPress bloggers whose posts I have really enjoyed, but I was unable to like their post or leave a comment due to their “like” button not displayed and the comment section being disabled as they don’t accept comments.

Some people’s websites don’t even load up all of the time. It could be my browser or the site is not available or is temporarily unavailable.

I appreciate your kindness and interactive regard within our community.

I am not the type to just read or like someone’s post just for someone to come read mine. As I have said many times in the past, if nobody came to read my blogs, I would still write.

This is also why I may not respond right away.

I like to take my time when I have the time to thoroughly and thoughtfully read through posts to give honest responses. If I “like” or leave a comment, it comes from genuineness.

So, whenever I have the free time, I will definitely get back to you all- not that any of you need or are necessarily looking for my feedback- I appreciate your visits and that you enjoy some of my writings or find them interesting.

All, have a blessed day.

For The Avid Reader

Last week, I sent a good, life-long friend money for her birthday.

In return, she told me the money came in handy as she was going to use the funds to purchase a new release by Stephen King titled “Fairytale”.

From what I read in the detail of the book it seems very interesting. The novel deals with dark fantasy, thriller, and suspense.

My mother read and loved Stephen King novels in the early 1980’s. And, of course, we both enjoyed his films.

I know what a joy it is to read. I love a book that I am unable to put down. I really hope my friend enjoys her novel.

I remember years ago when I used to be a member of “Black Expressions” book club. I had ordered suspense and thriller novels. The ones I chose out of the catalog were excellent!

I also remember the True Crime library series of books I used to purchase at Barnes and Noble bookstore.

I would literally be up all night glued to my books. It was an exciting time back then.

Newspaper

I read the paper this morning while at work after I left my overnight shift.

I use to read the paper as well as watch the news just about every day.

The Daily News is what I grew up on during childhood, my immediate family preferred the print over News Day and The New York Post.

I don’t remember what other newspapers other relatives would buy when I would go to visit them.

Nonetheless, we read them all as there were times when the Daily News was sold out.

Even though I liked to read the paper the news print left behind on my fingertips would turn me off.

As usual, I keep up to date on current events but the newspaper is still loaded with its fair share of uninteresting garbage and sensationalism.

Thank You, WordPress

Wow! I was not expecting to get a WordPress announcement of my fifteenth year of blogging since I haven’t received one in a long time. It is nice for us serious bloggers to all keep track.

I just came across the notification today.

I also miss the New Year’s celebration announcements we bloggers used to get with the animation every beginning of the year and the snowfall animations around winter or December!

Thank you, WordPress I hope to fly with you for as long as possible. I love to blog!

Bible Study

I always loved and enjoyed bible study. I like it even more now than I did years ago. There is a purity and serenity that comes along from reading and engaging in the scriptures. When I read my bible and devotionals, I feel a genuine spiritual connection.

God’s word is food for the soul, true life sustaining nourishment that incites me to hunger for more.

When I get into the passages, delving into the lives of specific characters they strike me not as strangers but more like family members. Though I never knew any of them on a personal level the affection, endearment and relation are there.

The bible is so relevant today just as it was back then many years ago.

I get wrapped into my reading sometimes for three or five hours straight when I have the time. However, there is not a day that goes by that I miss reading a piece of scripture or my devotionals.

I am into the word every day whether I spends hours or just a half an hour.

I also have discipleship and one on one bible study with my pastor once a week in addition and it is just never too much of spending time with the lord.

Midge And Moose

As I’ve written years ago a few times I was enveloped in the comic world of Riverdale and it’s comical and entertaining fictional characters.

Archie’s comics were a great and occupying part of my childhood and also part of my adulthood as I still buy/order, read and enjoy them today.

I’ve never watched the modern television show/series that is on nowadays on WPIX channel eleven as I have no interest in the drama.

It’s the old classical style comics that hold my interest and one particular one that I remember as a child was a sketch about Moose Mason and Midge Klump.

Midge had went away on vacation and she spoke with Moose over the phone, I think she was on the phone with him because it was so long ago and I’ve read so much stuff through out the years, anyway when Midge talked to Moose she told him to send her a wire (meaning a letter).

When he actually did mail a envelope out to her at her location it literally was a metal wire that was included inside and Midge was dumbfounded.

It was so cutely funny to me and I thought that it was just part of the writer’s creative imagination as I didn’t assume anyone could be that idiotic even though Moose’s character was always kind of slow always saying “Duh” before he spoke and all.

I found out as I got older that I was wrong.

A guy that was in his sixties use to come by my house from time to time when I was in my twenties. He couldn’t read and he was ignorant. I’m not saying that he was ignorant because he couldn’t read he was just the type that was lacking knowledge in general and wasn’t able to rise above it due to his mentality and lifestyle.

Nevertheless, we got on the subject of hereditary. And I was saying that my genes were a little different than one of my other relatives because we didn’t have the same parental bloodline.

So he stopped me while I was in the middle of explaining and uttered out to me, “Hey cool” (how he referenced me). “Now, what a pair of pants got to do with this?”

This guy didn’t know the difference of definition between genes and jeans. He didn’t even know there were two different words just with the same sound.

Right then and there I had remembered that sketch and I hollered inside now understanding just how real art imitated life to that ludicrous degree.

When I told a few people about it back then they laughed and they were like “He’s that dumb”. And I was like “Yeah”.
