I just finished reading a book written by a fellow WordPress blogger within our community. Those who have not already should check out her blog she is an exceptional writer with unique and creative storyline. This is my sincere review I left on Amazon today:
First, I want to say that this author is an incredibly good writer.
I love the setup of the town created and the depiction of the portrayal of a tourist attraction as well as an investment and cherished western home-life milieu for Cassidy Tanner and her grandfather (Doc) Dr. Irving
The story begins allowing us to know right away there is trouble ahead through West’s character who enters the “Watering Hole”- a marvelous/entertaining replica of an 1800’s Western for sightseeing visitors to explore- in desperate need of work while carrying secrets from his past to eventually unknowingly unravel secret mysteries of the current that are tied in association to another vital motive for drawing him to this location.
Without giving anything away in the story, momentum builds from childhood secrets to adulthood shocks- there are a string of murders that follow West’s arrival- sending the Watering Hole into a place of danger, fright, and curiosity. Why are these murders happening and who is the cause? And why is West at the center of it all?
Well, all is not what it seems like additional buried secrets rise to the surface to bear their ugly and astonishing heads to reveal a truth more suspenseful and mysterious than originally thought.

In this fictional town of Westbrooke, Staten Island, on Stanton Boulevard fifteen-year-old Danielle struggles with the pain of constant violation. And Kelly, her drug-addicted mother ignores her complaint.
Danielle has no other choice but to suffer the abuse of a drug dealer living within their home.
Kelly’s dependency on Bruce, her drug dealing boyfriend, outweighs all other matters that are concerned and with no one to turn to and nowhere to run Danielle endures a life of misery until one day when she is saved by her long lost father, Marcus Glover.
The five-year-old babies were covered in blood but appeared to be unharmed after close observation.
The police blocked off the scene outside the house while investigators acted.
Nothing had ever rocked the upstate town of Pennington, New York in this upscale neighborhood where crime was scarce, and residents lived at ease in their gated communities.
Could this have been family related? Could this have been an inside job?
It was a complete mystery and gossip swept throughout the entire city.
In bars, restaurants, offices, department stores- everyone was talking about how Evelyn Barker and her son Ryan Barker brutally murdered inside their home, their bludgeoned bodies horribly discovered by the loving husband and father Jake Barker.
It was astonishing the two other children found at the home were alive and well.
Later learned, according to the children, that they ran and hid themselves inside a bedroom closet at the sound of violence erupting within the household from someone who had paid Evelyn a visit.
So, how did blood get all over the children?
The children told officers and a child psychologist while they were being questioned and evaluated that after things in the home quieted down and, in their words, – “The bad man had left”, they left from the bedroom closet, down the stairs, and both slipped in the pool of blood puddled throughout the living room.
The media and News reports ran with this story for months before the novelty of the situation wore off and the interest had died down a bit.
No suspect ever gained capture, but the case remained open until it eventually went cold from no substantial leads.
The only evidence found at the scene was a sledgehammer used in the assault on the mother and child.
Jake Barker’s fingerprints were on the weapon along with his wife’s, but Jake claimed to not be home during the possible time of the incident and security camera footage backed up his story.
However, counsel later claimed he could have committed the crimes before he left the home to attend for work on that Friday winter morning of January 5, 1981.
Evelyn’s parents Jane and Phil Caldwell refused to give up and vigorously pressed law enforcement hard in their search for justice in honor of their beloved daughter and grandson.
They did not want to believe their son in law Jake could do such a horrible act against the woman and child he was supposed to love and protect, yet there was nothing but the man’s word- and his word only telling them different.
There was no hard evidence, just circumstantial. It was natural for Jake’s or Evelyn’s fingerprints to be on the sledgehammer as the object was one of their own household tools.
Nevertheless, in this event, after deliberation, speculation, and town uproar there was no other conclusion drawn that would exclude Jake from somehow being involved in his wife and child’s premature death.
Jake was sentenced to twenty-five years to life with no parole.
Jake’s parents and relatives were disappointed and devastated. They felt that Jake did not receive a fair trial.
There was no way he killed Evelyn and six-year-old Ryan according to their beliefs. There was just no way. Not from what they knew and lived of Jake their adored son, brother, uncle, cousin, and grandson.
Jane and Phil Caldwell had money and influence, and they used their wealth in hiring and appointing the best attorneys along with whatever else it took to gain closure for themselves through the legal system.
I have completed my three-book publishing goal on three different motivational subjects that spirit inspired me to write regarding positively journeying in life, experiences with God, and health and wellness.
Now I am moving on to other interests as I am flexible and adapt to an array of whatever it is that naturally captures my fancy.
I come up with my own unique ideas.
When I was a little girl, I used to write short horror stories that I was offered the opportunity to get published into mainstream.
I used to love horror movies back then.
I am not so much into horror now, though, I still appreciate a horror film that is done well and entertaining.
I like suspense and have been writing a novel that will soon be finished. The book will be a suspense/thriller.
I am a writer who does not limit herself to one specific genre.
I write by what naturally inspires me at any given time as I am naturally versatile- whether it be self-help, devotional, non fiction or fiction novels of suspense.
One thing I have observed through my writing, and with life in general- as certain others have I am sure, is that people will view things and/or judge within their own perception- viewing through their own personal lenses.
What they may interpret or misinterpret may not at all correspond or have anything to do with what I or another may be expressing, divulging, or projecting.
All of us writers do not use ourselves as examples, yet we may share what we have seen or encountered through others firsthand while also adding to our own experience as a confirmation to what we know is fact or a possibility.
As writers and as human beings, we will always receive some form of criticism, praise, or misjudgment. It is all up to the individual on how they accept, handle, or ignore what others throw out.
I personally am a very strong, resilient, determined person who cannot be swayed by the judgment or opinions of others.
When we write and live life, we are not always going to please others- and I do not seek nor have I ever sought validation or approval from anyone.
I have God-given talents just like a lot of us do, and writing is something I have loved to do since my childhood and is my passion.
If anyone chooses to learn or feel enlightened or inspired by my writings, then so be it. If not, so be it. I do not write to please or to disturb anyone I write because it is one of my callings as I am extremely creative.
There is nothing wrong with sharing and exchanging ideas.
I also feel that as a writer one should never let anyone discouraged them in their ventures or visions.
Always stand up for yourself and what you believe in and if others misunderstand you or persecute you for any reason that is their problem not ours.
Some people in life will relate to others in some form or fashion and some will not- and that is a good thing.
Most of the time their words and/or actions are a reflection of themselves and not of us. We as individuals all cannot be the same.
If so, life would be dull and boring.
Be happy, be healthy, and publish the beauty of your diversity of talent until your heart is content!

Well, I did not get to that yet- but I will eventually.
Suddenly energy came out of nowhere to inspire me to come up with new ideas/new material along with the old ones I had regarding novels I intended to put out years ago though I did not get the chance to due to jealous people trying to hold me back (it is a long story but one I triumphed over as no one could ever stop me or bring me down. I am a fighter and a survivor to the end).
I have a brand-new book I just recently published and have been busy currently in the process of writing two more for publication.
This is my time now to get back into my career as a true to the heart book writer without any interference.
Like I said before, when God has a purpose and plan for your life no one can stop it.
We may get delayed for a while but we get back on board to sail an even bigger ship! ❤
I am so happy and excited about getting back into publishing.
One of my friends keeps telling me that she cannot wait for me to write and publish another book.
She loved the two I wrote and published years ago.
The thing about us true writers, though, is that we must wait until the energy comes upon us to make that move.
We do not just come up with the material/information instantly the material and information in detailing whatever it is that we are going to write and how we will proceed within our creative process has to materialize upon us when it is ready to reveal itself to us.
Then we can instantly and automatically vibe into the essence of our projects.
That natural energetic direction puts us into mode while it instinctively guides and provides us with stimulation.
This is why I do not rush and try to make myself come up with an idea that does not manifest, because the timing may not be right and things may not work out accordingly, just as I do with blogging. The information or ideas will naturally come to write itself.
This is how it happened when I published my very first novel along with the second one.
The ideas came to me spontaneously and the books wrote themselves and everything was successful in completion and timing.
I have an unpublished manuscript that I had copywritten twenty years ago. I am planning to work on getting this material published next until I get inspired to write and publish more books when they are meant to be.
I know one of the things I was put on this earth to do is write so when the urge hits I will be a willing vessel and participant to comply with continuing to do what I love and enjoy doing.
Writing is an art and a talent, a gift to inspire, and to be inspired by.
When inspiration unexpectedly strikes it will happen anywhere and at any given period. There is not a set time for creative skill to rise into focus. Vision and wit is promoted by energy and drive expression and invention is contrived through originality.
Once all of the faculties range within motion the flair of province instinctively goes into coordination.
